Gloria Dawn Williams, 90, of Denton, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by family at her home in Denton.

Mrs. Williams was born on October 29, 1930 in Eastland to William Austin and Mary Ethel (Eberhart) Hart. She graduated Evant High School in 1948. She was married to Fred Williams on January 4, 1952 in Denton. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Denton where she delighted in singing in the choir for many years. She worked as a long-distance telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Fred Williams of Denton; daughter, Rebecca Compton of Fort Worth; sons, Thomas A. Williams of Mansfield, Timothy C. Williams of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Ryan Compton, Sarah Compton, Ashley Williams, Brittney Cooper, Katherine Foster, Daniel Williams, and Vivian Stewart; great-grandchildren, Austin Compton, Joshua Compton, Brooke Compton, Lilianna Compton, Graham Foster and Evelyn Dowling. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Blanchard and Ruth Due.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. The graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Dr., Denton.
