Obituary

Gloria Jean (Wasem) Orgain, 79, of Denton (formerly of Lewisville) died Friday, July 7, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Emil McDaniel Wasem and Norma Storm Wasem. Gloria married Allen Thomas Orgain, Jr. on June 13, 1981 in Houston, he preceded her in death on August 13th, 2017. She worked for Travelers Insurance Company for 10 ½ years and truly enjoyed this work. They moved to Lewisville, Texas in 1984. She enjoyed taking care of her best buddy, her dog Farley, going to Braums, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She was an active member of Denton Bible Church.

Gloria is survived by her stepdaughter, Amy Orgain-Peddy; grandchildren, Bryan Nester, his wife Katherine, and Sunday Nester and great grandchildren, Mackenzie Nester and Ellie Nester.

She was preceded in death by her brother Col. Gary A. Wasem, USAF Retired. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Tonnie Wasem, niece, Jennifer Wasem and her sons Benjamin Boyle and Samuel Boyle and her nephew, Dr. Jeffrey Wasem, his wife Brandy Wasem, and their daughter, Blythe Wasem.

The family also includes dear friends Scott and Cara Cross and their children Julyn Cross and Spencer Cross, who very lovingly called her Granny Gloria.

A service to celebrate Gloria's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Denton Bible Church in Denton. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to Denton Bible Church.
