Obituary

After a valiant two-year battle with cancer, Glen del Rosario passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
He was funny and known for his warm spirit. He had such strength and didn't want to give up. "He was in it for the fight because he wanted to be here for us," said his wife Tonya del Rosario. "He was saying to the kids up until the day he died, People have it much worse than me. We are blessed."
Glen del Rosario, 50, will be remembered as a "great dad, husband and my very best friend," she said. He met his bride Tonya in Dallas in January 1999, and they eloped Nov. 5, 1999 in Dallas. They had a big wedding, Sept. 15, 2000 in Milwaukee. "We loved each other so much, we joked we married each other twice," she said.
He was born June 28, 1964 in Manila, Philippines and was the fifth of six children born to Dr. Horacio O. del Rosario and Maria Louisa Enriquez del Rosario (now deceased).
In addition to his wife, Tonya, survivors include his children, Sophia, Chloe and Ava, as well as his mother-in-law Maureen Landers, all of Denton. Other survivors are his siblings (and spouses) Vicki (John) Milburn, Rob (Tracy) del Rosario, Dr. John (Olga) del Rosario, Gloria del Rosario and Tony del Rosario. All siblings and spouses live in St. Louis. Numerous nieces and nephews, father-in-law Timothy Landers of Milwaukee and brother-in-law Paul Landers of Chicago, also mourn his passing.
Glen worked in IT for a number of years, and later became a stay-at-home dad for several years. He also worked in the retail industry as it gave him flexibility to spend time with family.
He was diagnosed with Angiosarcoma in 2012, and spent eight months in physical therapy learning how to walk again. He lived life to the fullest and he spent much of this summer traveling with family.
Glen was very creative and the girls got his creativity. He was working on a children's book for his kids. They have inherited his creativity and sense of thinking of others first.
Funeral mass will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. in Denton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Glen del Rosario Benevolent Fund Account held at Chase Bank, 5005 Teasley Lane, Denton, Texas 76210 or to the Angiosarcoma Awareness Inc. in honor of Glen del Rosario (PO Box 17421, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33318).
