Gerald Wayne Olson, 57 of Sanger, TX passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home. He was born June 11, 1955 in Stamford, TX to George Donald and Ruby Laverne (Baitz) Olson He was a graduate of Ozona High School and attended Texas Tech University. He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denton. He was retired from the City of Denton Parks and Recreation Dept. as a Crew Leader. He was married to Carrie Ann Mazzie on April 26, 1997 in Denton.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father George Olson, grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Fred Olson and Mr. & Mrs. Herman Raphelt. He is survived by his wife Carrie of Sanger, daughters, Cristalle Olson of Frisco, Amelia Benson of Naples, FL, Andrea Benson of Dallas, his mother Ruby Olson of Stamford, a brother, Donald Olson and wife Vicky of Sunnyvale, and one Grandchild, Alyssa Reynolds of Flower Mound.
Visitation will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. The funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St.Paul Lutheran Church, 703 N. Elm St. Denton, followed by a graveside committal at 3:30 P.M at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in the Ericksdahl Community, Avoca, TX.
