Georgia E. Newkirk, 67 of Lake Dallas, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, in Grapevine TX. Georgia was born to George and Phyllis Elliott in Denver, Colorado, on December 27, 1948.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Newkirk; her parents; George W Elliott and Phyllis B Elliott. Survivors include her Daughters: Tonya M Galbreth of Albuquerque, NM and Christy L Newkirk of FT Worth, TX; her son: Steven D Newkirk of Onalaska, WI; her sisters Nancy LePell and Susan Elliott Bryan; and her Grand Children: Tana Galbreth, Ashley Churchill, Andrea Reader, Jade Tersiev, Abigail Newkirk, and David Tersiev. Georgia grew up in a mobile family but spent most of her time in Albuquerque, NM, graduating from Highland High School in 1967. She continued on to marry the love of her life David Newkirk. They together started building houses that they built in Albuquerque and Edgewood NM. She was always on the cutting edge of the industry from working on Dome homes and then moving on to steel homes. She continued to work on homes, and remodeling until she decided to retire and enjoy her time with her kids, and grandkids. Arrangements under the direction of Denton Funeral Home.
