George Louis Van Duyne of Aubrey TX died Thursday February 3, 2022, after a long and gallant fight.
Mr. George was born on Feb 13, 1945, in Morristown, New Jersey to Charles Louis and Georgia (Meyers) Van Duyne. He was married to Judith Louise Stewart on March 5, 1966, in Novato California. Together they raised their family all over the world and the US. He retired from The United States Air Force in 1984 where he served his country proudly in many capacities, but most years were spent as an X-Ray technician in some of the military's biggest hospitals. They retired to Ca where he worked as an x-ray technician and in pain management for a professional football team. In 2001 they followed their adult children to Texas where Mr. George worked as college professor teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Physics.
George is survived by his loving wife, Judy of Aubrey TX: and their daughters Stacy Beard and her husband Darren of Denton TX, Lindsay Platzek of Amarillo, TX, Tami Carpenter of Aubrey, TX, Karie Carpenter of Aubrey, brother Chip Van Duyne of Walnut Creek CA; grandchildren Darren Beard Jr, Christian Beard and his wife Marissa, ShelbyAnn Schroen and her husband Raymond, EmmaLee Beard, Diana Platzek; great grandchildren Sophia Hollowell, Claire Beard, Alaric Beard, Adalynn Beard
Mr. George was a man with a big heart and there are many more that were like children and grandchildren to him.
The graveside service will be held at 3:15 pm Wednesday 2/16/22 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday 2/17/22 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. The Memorial service will be held on Friday 2/18/22 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Denton.
