George Thomas "Tomnmy" Lindley, 85 of Denton, passed away on December 28, 2013 at Autumn Leaves Care Center. He was born April 26, 1928 in Krum, Tx to Alf and Eva (Kerby) Lindley. He attended Public Schools and received a BBA Degree from the University of North Texas (North Texas State College). He served in the U S Army during the Korean War. He was married to Bobbyelea Baxter Fortenberry on Feb. 1, 1996. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and also attended Gateway United Baptist Church. He was retired from the University of North Texas Comptroller's Office, and had worked with the American Red Cross and Armature Radio Club.
Mr. Lindley is survived by his wife Bobbyelea Lindley of Denton, daughters, Vicki Nicklas and husband Karl Baker of Arlington, Elana Osborn and husband Craig of Garland, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by parents, sister Venita L. Craft, and brother H. M. (Jerry) Lindley.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton from 12:30 P.M. until 2 P.M. with a funeral service at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Funeral home, with Rev. Buddy Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery at Krum. In lieu of flowerm memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
