Obituary

George Columbus Stracener, 79, of Denton, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Denton. He was born July 23, 1928 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Barney and Daisy (Beaver) Stracener. He was a self employed Plumber, and attended Liberty Baptist Church in Lewisville. He was married to Margaret Frances Gean on February 8, 1965 in Denton, she died March 8, 2003.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 in the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton, with Rev. Dick Webster, officiating Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N Locust Denton, TX for Visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.

Mr. Stracener is survived by Daughter's, and Sons in law Billie and Coy Sturdivant, of Denton and Mary Ann amd Maurice Ellison, of Denton, and Margaret and James May of Sanger, Sons and daughter-in-law, George Stracener, Jr. of Valley View, David and Judy Stracener, of Slidell, Mark and Marsha Cather, of Lewisville, Michael Cather , of Waxahachie, and Greg and April Stracener, of Perkins, OK, Sisters, Nancy Ferguson, of DeRidder, LA. Florence Medcalf, of Pitkin, LA and Chris Prather, of Singer, LA Brothers, Edward Stracener, Gerald Stracener, and Nick Stracener, all of Pitkin, LA. Eighteen Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren, twenty Six Nephews, and Eighteen Nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife , daughters Joyce Ann Stracener, Veronica Le Cather and son Johnny Ray Stracener
