George Marshall Rogers, 72, of Ponder, died January 7, 2021 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

Mr. Rogers was born on July 10, 1948 in Aubrey to Sammy and Nina Mae (Mann) Rogers. He was married to Amelia Gutierrez on April 20, 1974 in Denton. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Denton and retired from the City of Denton.

George is survived by his wife Amelia Rogers of Ponder; son, Richard "Ricky" Rogers and his wife Leah of Denton; sisters, Wanda Carter of Valley View, Sammie Lilly of Ponder, Zelda Loyd of Ponder; brothers, Calvin Rogers of Valley View, Alvin Rogers of Krum; grandchildren, Fisher Rogers and Finlee Rogers. He was preceded in death by a son, George Marshall Rogers, Jr.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2021 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. George will be laid to rest at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey.
