George E. Roberts, age 75, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at Denton Regional Hospital.

He was born November 2, 1930 in Coppell, Texas to France and Sarah Mitchie Prater Roberts. George served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of Lewisville VFW Post #9168. George married Betty David on July 2, 1986 in Lewisville and worked as an aircraft mechanic, for 38.5 years from 1956 to his retirement in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Robbie Jean Meadows and husband, Toby, Gayla Mays and husband, Charles, Kimberly Dickerson and husband, Jeff and Precious Roberts, sons, Eddie Roberts, Robert David, Jr. and wife, Susan and Keith David;
Son-in-law, Mike DeLong. 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; stepmother, Margie Roberts; sisters, Oda Rockett and Jean Hamilton and husband, Jim; brother, Jerry Roberts and wife, Betty. His mother and father, daughter, Sharry DeLong and two grandchildren preceded George in death.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow in Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
