George Wilson Lyon, 82, of Upland, California died Sunday, September 16,2007 at his home. He was born June 9, 1925 in Kosse, TX to George W. and Mary L. (Powers) Lyon.. He attended Kosse Public Schools and the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. He served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was married to Donna Jean Mannes on June 29, 1947 in Pasadena, California. He is a retired Sales Engineer in the Air Conditioning Industry. He is a member of the Lutheran Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in the First Baptist Church in Kosse with Rev. Jimmy Phillips, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mustang Cemetery at Kosse. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday before the service from 9:00 A.M. till 11;00 A.M.

Mr. Lyon is survived by his wife, Donna J. Lyon, of Upland, CA daughters, Marsha Murray, of South Pasadena, CA Melinda Lyon, of Idyllawild, CA Nancy Lyon, of Pasadena, CA and Paula Hogan, of Hemet, CA a sister Mary H. Mulkey, of Denton, TX and brothers Walter L. Lyon, of Bremond, TX and Cecil W. Lyon, of Kosse, TX and one granddaughter, Kristen Murray, of Park City, UT
