George Dennis
Little
October 20, 1947 – June 2, 2017
George Dennis Little, age 69, of Sanger, TX, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Medical City Hospital in Denton, TX, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Dennis was born on October 20, 1947, in Portland, OR, to George Sylvester Little and Dorothy Mulliniks Harris. He grew up loving nature, and surfing in Simi Valley, California. For his senior year he attended and graduated from Grapevine High School, where he met his lifelong friends. Later he attended UNT and received a degree in Mathematics. He married Joyce Davis Little on September 15, 1975, in Dallas, TX. He and Joyce built an underground home in a loving community outside of Denton. He enjoyed biking, running, golfing, and traveling. His favorite place was the Grand Canyon, where he hiked with his family and friends on many occasions. He worked as a computer programmer with Eagle Merchant Processing for many years, and retired in June 2015.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Joyce Davis Little of Sanger; son, Dennis Little, Jr. of Denton; daughter, Amy Little with partner Lisa Martin of Alameda, CA; daughter, Jessica Little Sharp of Sanger; grandchildren, Soren Kade Sharp and Lillian Joy Sharp; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cam McMackin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1111 Cordell St. There will also be a time of fellowship from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dan's Silverleaf, 103 Industrial St., Denton.
