George Karl Meier, age 72, born November 27, 1940 to George and Anna Meier in Poughkeepsie, New York passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Denton, Texas.
George was an avid football fan who loved the NY Giants, Washington Huskies and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He shared his passion for cooking, with his granddaughters.
Preceded in death by his brother, William Bartels and sister-in-law, Marie Borowski, George is survived by his loving wife Barbara, of 49 years; son, George R. Meier; daughter, Heidi Dewing and husband, Peter; granddaughters; Amanda and Victoria; sister, Hilda Zuccaro and husband, Thomas; sister-in-law, Alice Bartels and brother-in-law, John Borowski.
Arrangements are under the direction of Denton Funeral Home.
