George Neill Cooksey passed away on April 25, 2025 at the age of 59 at his home in Denton, Texas. He was born May 3rd  1965 to Rose Anne O'Neill Cooksey and the late Noel LaVaughn Cooksey in Amarillo, Texas. George will be remembered by his unwavering dedication to family and his desire to be with loved ones.

George spent his final years in Red River, New Mexico where he enjoyed the fresh mountain air, fishing and building community. He took great pride in owning Red River RV Park where he built lasting friendships through shared stories, hard work and hospitality.

George had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. He generously mentored and guided many, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. His legacy of love, laughter, mentorship and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Gloria, his daughters Jacqueline Fox and her husband Justin, Brooke Mulholland and her husband John, Kelli Wade and her husband Payton, and Ceanna Cooksey. He was known as Papa to his seven grandchildren: Leyton and Breckan Fox, Emalyn, Scarlett, Abigail, John Luke and Jameson Mulholland.

George was preceded in death by his father, Noel Cooksey and his brother, John Cooksey and survived by his mother, Rose Anne Cooksey, and his sibling Charles, Margaret, Edwin, Chris and David.

George will always be remembered for his love of sports, the good times spent playing cornhole and Golden Tee with friends, and the happiness he found cheering on his grandkids. We'll always imagine hearing him say "You'll be Fine" and "Who Does That?" one more time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Elm Fork Taphouse, 1221 Turbeville Rd, Hickory Creek, TX 75065, on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM.
