George Christian Becker

August 30, 1937 – January 27, 2022

On the peaceful morning of January 27, George C. Becker took one final breath and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

George is survived by Diane, his faithful wife for over 45 years. In addition to a faithful spouse, God blessed George with a host of family members. He is survived by 9 children and 22 grandchildren. His children are Cecilia Payne (husband: Jody) of Denton, TX; Donna Perkins (husband Dan) of Greenville, TX; Chris Becker (wife: Patti) of Grand Prairie, TX; Alison Bednarczyk (husband: Adam) of Addison, TX; Doug Becker (wife: Leslie) of Plano, TX; Ellen Becker of Denton, TX; Julia Rios (husband: Ron) of Denton, TX, Stephanie Polk of Denton, TX, and Stephen Biering (wife: Andrea) of Denton, TX. Finally, George also leaves behind his twin sister Louise Birdsong of Denton, TX.

God also blessed George with many business endeavors throughout his life. His HVAC career started with Joe Evans Plumbing. Shortly afterwards, George bought into a partnership that would become CBS Mechanical. Now after many years of experience in the heating and air condition trade, and armed with an entrepreneurial spirit, George went into business for himself starting Becker Heating and Air. After selling the business, George went to work for Denton ISD to maintain the HVAC systems for the campuses throughout the school district. He would eventually retire from Denton ISD in 2007.

Finally, God blessed George with many ministry opportunities. As a member of Denton Bible Church, George was an active volunteer with Vision Ministry, whose goal is to build meaningful relationships with the under-resourced people of the community. He also took part in three mission trips in support of Charlie and Arlene Cornet in Tennessee and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

As part of the heavenly choir, George now sings a "new song" (Rev. 5:11–14).
