Gene Ray Wilborn was born July 9, 1937 in Olney TX to Ernest and Ina Bess Wilborn. He grew up in Olney, TX and graduated from Olney High School and later Abilene Christian University. Gene was joyfully married to Louraine Pittard Wilborn for 53 years, most of them spent in Denton, TX. Gene was the proud father of four children: Sean Wilborn, Stephanie Wilborn Davis, Leslie Wilborn Coleman, and Amy Wilborn Kirkpatrick. Gene devoted his life to his family, friends and church, all in faithful service to his Lord Jesus Christ. Gene was an entrepreneur and worked primarily in retail. His passions were the game of golf and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Gene is survived by his wife, three children, and thirteen grandchildren: Allie, Ben and Emily Davis; Caroline, Luke and Cole Kirkpatrick, Samantha, Will, Kate and Owen Coleman; Ty, Charlie and Joy Wilborn. Gene has been in the presence of his Savior and Great Hope since October 12, 2014.
