Gene Pendleton, age 80, of Flower Mound, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009, at his home.

He was born October 9, 1928 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Charles Arthur Pendleton and Bess Ambrose Pendleton. Gene served in the United States Navy after World War II. He married the love of his life, Rachel Wills on August 23, 2008 in Lewisville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Peters Colony Shrine Club of Lewisville and was active in the Citizens Police Academy of Lewisville, as well as the Flower Mound Senior Center, the Widowed Persons Support group and the YMCA. Gene was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughters, Suzanne Stephens and husband, Jim of Nashville, Tennessee and Robin Mason and husband, Bob of Coppell; sons, Arthur Wills and wife, Jill of Bloomingdale, Ohio and Michael Wills and wife, Eva of Highland Village; grandchildren, Kenny, Keith and wife, Jill, Kevin, Kelly, Kyle, Gunnar, Larus, Hanna, Arthur IV, Timothy, Brittany and Sarah; six great grandchildren; sister Bonnadell Pendleton, and sister-in-law, Martha R. Pendleton of Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebekah Lynn Pendleton, a granddaughter, Christie Oder and by two brothers, Nelson Pendleton and Maurice Pendleton.

A service to celebrate Gene's life will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation. The Reverend David W. Holland will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions made to the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation or the Leukemia Society.
