Garre Lynne Matise passed from this earth to help tend the garden of heaven at the age of 64 on December 13, 2019.  She was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 16, 1955 to Claudine W. LaFave and Gary Vandergriff.  She was raised in Illinois, Massachusetts, Florida and Texas and graduated from Lewisville High School.

Garre worked in the airline industry for much of her adult life, having worked for American Airlines for more than 30 years.  She also loved decorating her house and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her parents, Claudine W. LaFave, of Denton, Texas, Gary H. Vandergriff and his wife Patty Vandergriff; her brothers, Dr. Danny Vandergriff and wife Yaping Han of White Settlement, Texas, and Jerry D. Brinegar and partner Jaime Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her sisters, April A. Brinegar and husband Troy Smith of Jacksboro, Texas and Nikki Vandergriff and husband Jeremy Wilson; her children, Joanna Brock and husband Dan Brock, Corbin Matise, and Ross Matise; grandchildren Nico, Lola and Silas Brock, and Major and Farrah Matise.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 4501 Teasley Lane, Denton TX on Saturday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m.
