Gail Byler Carter, age 83, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2025. Born on April 1, 1941, in Ft. Worth to John and Stella Carter.
Growing up in Grand Prairie, she was a proud cheerleader for the Grand Prairie High School The Gophers, showcasing her artistic talents by designing the school's iconic Gophers logo. Gail later earned a Bachelor's degree in English while attending NTSU in Denton. She enjoyed following politics and current events.
Gail is survived by her brother, Grady Carter his wife Sylvia, son Craig Jonathan Byler his wife Rebecca, daughter Kari J'Layne Mayfield, grandchildren Kristen Byler January her husband Sean January, Joshua Hill, Austin Taylor Mayfield, Sarah McKenzie Byler She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, Kesler and Kalon January, her niece Lisa Carter, nephew Brent Carter his wife Dusty.
She was preceded in death by Norman Lewis Byler; her son, Rick Dedeluk; and her oldest brother, Jerry Carter.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held on April 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM at 2875 W. El Dorado Parkway, Little Elm, Texas. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in honoring her memory. For more information, please email info4jlayne@gmail.com
