Mr. Knapp was born on May 19, 1935 in Worthington, MN to Clifford and Beatrice (Ryan) Knapp.  Following Army service in Germany from 1954 to 1956, he graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.   He married Patricia Ann Roberts on September 6, 1958 in Staples, MN.  Fritz began his career as a systems engineer with IBM.  He then moved to Dallas and worked for Electronic Data Systems for 17 years.  He recently retired as a partner at Resource One Incorporated.

Fritz is remembered for his intelligence, integrity, and wonderful sense of humor.  He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.  The world is a less colorful, less interesting, and less vivid without him.  All who know him have lost a friend, mentor, and ally in life.

Mr. Knapp is survived by his wife of fifty years, Patricia Ann Knapp of Corinth, TX; daughter, Kelly (husband Mark) Gottschalk of Richmond, VA; sons, John (wife Mary) Knapp of Mason, OH, James (wife Nancy) Knapp of Lemoore, CA; and eight grandchildren:  Rachel and Jacob of Richmond; Patrick, Sean, and Kevin of Mason; Fredrick William IV (Will), Ryan and Lauren of Lemoore.
