Freddie Barfknecht, age 66, of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006, in Lewisville.

He was born January 23, 1940 in Lewisville to Frederick Carl Ewalt Barfknecht and Ola Odelle Graham Barfknecht. Freddie served in the United States Army. He was a very active member of Round Grove United Church of Christ in Lewisville were he was former treasurer and served on the board of trustees. He and his brother, Charles, owned and operated Barfknecht Stables in Lewisville.

He is survived by his daughter, Dina Kilcrease and husband, Wes of Little Elm; son, Blake Barfknecht and wife, Stephanie of Roanoke; grandchildren, Madison Kilcrease and Grace Barfknecht; brother, Charles Barfknecht of Muenster and numerous nephews and extended family.

Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2006, at Round Grove United Church of Christ. Interment followed in Round Grove Cemetery. The family received friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions made to Round Grove Cemetery Association,
