Fred Harper, Jr. 63 of Denton, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born February 5, 1942 in Denton to Fred and Georgia E. (Edmond) Harper. He attended Denton Public Schools, the University of North Texas, and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton, the Dallas Petroleum Club, Southwestern and Southeastern Petroleum Producers Association, and the Elks Lodge. He was a Director of the North Texas Fair Association. He was self employed as an Independent Producer in Oil and Gas, and prior to that he was a Mortician.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Pallbearers will be James Smith, B. J. Edwards, Lonnie Grammatico, Don Taylor, Bill Allen, and Dr. Harvey McBrayer. Honorary Pallbearers will be D. C. Walston and Spotswood Davis.
Mr. Harper is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Karen and Randy Patton, and two grandchildren, Jake and Sydney, all of Lake Barrington, Illinois.
