Frank Malicke passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 1, 2009. He was born on January 21, 1924, to Ignatius and Josephine Malicki, of Leigh High, North Dakota. Frank spent his school years with his family in Belfield, N.D.
Frank served as an aviation mechanic for the U.S. Navy during W.W.II and the Korean War. After service to his country, Frank graduated from The Kansas City, MO School of Watchmaking in 1949. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Kolleen Scheetz, in The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Kansas City, MO. He was a watchmaker in Holdrege, NB and Hiawatha, KS. Frank and Kolleen then opened their own business, Frank's Jewelry, in Falls City, NE. Customers from the four surrounding states highly regarded Frank for his expertise, honesty, and wonderful sense of humor. He retired in 1986 and both moved to Flower Mound, TX, to be closer to family.
Frank Malicke is survived by his loving wife, Kolleen, of 58 years, and daughters, Terri (Don) Osvog, Jan (Paul) Pelletier, all of Flower Mound, and Nancy (Michael) Moravec of Oklahoma City, OK. Frank leaves seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, a brother Charles Malicki, and sister, Pauline Gulka. Preceding him in death are his sisters, Josephine Godlasky and Martha Whiddon, and dear aunts Sophie and Pauline Paluck.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5th, at 11am, in St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church, Lewisville, TX. Frank will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church.
