Frances Merle Wells, 97, of Denton passed away on December 12, 2022, at Good Samaritan Assisted Living Facility.  Frances was born in Green Valley, Texas on June 30, 1925, the daughter of John Claude Rodden and Myrtle Coffey Rodden.  Frances married Leo Wells in Gainesville, Texas on April 06, 1946.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leo Wells, son, Harold Wells, daughter, Linda Wells and siblings, Homer Rodden, J. Rodden, Mattie Cook, Jean Simms and Edith Johnson. She is survived by daughter, Regena Laird and son-in-law, Roger Laird of Krum, Texas, daughter, Debra Wells, of Denton, Texas and daughter-in-law, Loretta Wells of Krum, Texas.  She had five grandchildren, Bobby Wells, John Wells, Christy Laird Bland, Shelly Cason and her husband Terry, and Andrew Wells.  Seven great grandchildren, Heather Freeman, Beth Wells, Brooke Bland, Brett Bland and his wife Bodie, Logan Laird, Zack Stacey and Paige Cason and seven great great grandchildren, Kali Pecskovszky, Kaitley Pecskovszky, Hayden Wells, Brylie Loveless, Auden Loveless, Jayden Surati and RaeLynn Laird.

Frances worked for Russell Newman Manufacturing for 18 years.  She ended her working career so she and Leo could travel around the country in their RV with their travel buddies, Ramon and Mary Wells.  They spent many summers in Branson, Missouri at Treasure Lake RV Park and enjoyed taking the grandkids on summer vacations. She loved gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

Frances was a member of Gateway United Baptist Church in Denton, Texas.  She taught Sunday school and worked on the benevolence committee throughout her Christian walk.  Frances loved the Lord and was ready to go home and be with him.

Visitation will be on Friday morning, December 16, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the service immediately following at 10:00 a.m. at Gateway Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Avenue, Denton, Texas.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, Texas.  Officiated by Pastor Buddy Owens.
