Frances Josephine ("Fran") Jakobe, 77, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Good Samaritan's Lake Forest Village Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on December 6, 1939 in Washington, D.C. to Saul and Wilma (Gordon) Shub, the third of five children. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, where she grew up. She married William Puthoff Jakobe in 1958 and had three children, then moved to Arlington, Texas in 1963. She worked for 20 years at LTV (Aircraft) in Grand Prairie, Texas, as an electrical assembler.  She retired from LTV and later moved to Denton to be with family.

Fran is survived by her brother, Mike Shub, and wife Susan, of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Sandra Nunn, and husband, Jim, of Missouri; son, Steven Jakobe; daughter, Rae Lynn Wilson, and husband, Bob, of Denton; grandchildren, April Corrao and her husband Jason, in Wisconsin; Jeremy Breunig in Wisconsin; R.J. Wilson in Denton; Katie Rae Preston and husband, Jason, in New Braunfels; and Stefanie Quimby and husband, Robert, in Austin; great grandchildren, Jaxon and Alana Corrao; Georgia Rae and Robert Ellis Preston; and Skylar Quimby; and many nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bernard Shub; sister, Sally Mortensen; and son, Larry Jakobe.

Fran was a caring friend, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a good listener, our champion, mentor and inspiration, and she will be missed by all who knew her. She was full of life and enjoyed cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, traveling, walking her dog, playing cards, going to the casino, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, April 21, 2017 in the chapel at Good Samaritan's Lake Forest Village, 3901 Montecito Drive, in Denton.
