Obituary

Forrest J.\"Buddy\" Landry Jr. a native of New Iberia, LA was born to Forrest Sr. and Jencie Landry on April 1, 1957. He passed from this life and entered through the pearly gates of heaven on April 4, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. Buddy was a resident of Denton, Texas for 17 years. He worked for Schwan Food Inc. for eight years. During this time Buddy became good friends with all his customers. They all enjoyed his "Cajun" accent; many of them called him Boudreaux. He met the woman and the love of his dreams when he married Deborah Martinez Horn. They were married on July 4th, 1995. Their lives were filled with much happiness and joys as they celebrated each other's love. Buddy started a lawn care business, which was successful, but very hot in the summer. In 2000 he then started another business, "Pro-Line Construction", and again he was very successful. Buddy was a generous man with a good heart. Sometimes he would make repairs for individuals who could not afford to pay for them. Buddy has been an active member of the First Assembly Of God Church since 1997. He participated in several activities, including being the drummer for the praise and worship team. The people in the church became Buddy's extended family. Buddy loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed cooking all kinds of Cajun food for his family and friends. In his earlier days he loved to hop on his motorcycle and ride, with no particular destination in mind; he just enjoyed having the wind blow in his face and through his hair. He dreamed of retiring at Toledo Bend. That didn't happen; instead he moved his residence to his heavenly mansion prepared by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His mansion is located in heaven along the banks of the River of Life. Buddy enjoyed life to it's fullest; he was a real fighter. When the doctors discovered cancer in his body, he fought until the very end with his loved ones by his bedside.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Deborah Landry of Denton, a daughter Amy and her husband Josh Goin, of Krum, a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Sequra and husband Harry of New Iberia, LA: a grandson, Abraham Goin, of Krum, two nephews, Jonathon Ewing, Jr. of Laplace, LA and Brennan Segura, of New Iberia, LA and Father in law, Don Horn, of Denton. Many, Many friends from Texas and Louisana also survive Buddy: it seems like every person he met became his friend for life. The Landry family wishes to give special thanks and appreciation to his caretaker, Andrew Vasquez. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Sr. and Jencie Ivy Landry, a great niece and godchild, Jencie Arcemont, a great grand niece, Bailee Guyote, mother in law, Vickie Horn, a brother in law Gilbert David Martinez, and his beloved pet "Whiskers" the cat. Buddy's family and friends will miss him, but Jesus and his family greeted him with open arms as his spirit left this earth and endered into the presence of the Lord Jesus.
