Floyd Earl Gresham, 89, of Sanger, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. He was born July 31, 1923 in Krum, Texas to Ottis and Ella (Owens) Gresham. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He worked as a manager in water proofing. He was married to Jeannette Marie Hall on March 27, 1941 in Marietta, Oklahoma and she died April 19, 2005, then he married Melva R. Heath on September 19, 2008 in Sanger, Texas. He is a member of the Central Baptist Church of Denton.
Mr. Gresham is survived by his wife, Melva of Sanger, Texas; daughter, Sharyn Jean Finley and husband David of Yoder, Colorado; sisters, Betty Jean Crider of Ponder and Mary Linda Pennington of Ponder; brothers, M. D. Gresham of Denton and Wayne Gresham of Miami, FL; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Floyd Gresham; parents; and brothers, R. G. Homer and Cotton Gresham, and sister, Ruth Horton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, 2221 N. Carroll Blvd, Denton, with Rev. James Singleton and Rev. Paul Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Thursday, October 25, 2012 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
