Floyd Dale Blagg, a beloved resident of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Gainesville, Texas. Born on December 12, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, Floyd lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and a deep love for his family and community.
A lifelong resident of Denton, with the exception of two years spent at Pecan Tree Rehab and Nursing Home, Floyd embraced life fully. He found great joy in family gatherings, traveling to explore new places, and meeting new people, always eager to learn about their stories and experiences. His vibrant spirit and genuine interest in others left an indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Floyd was the cherished son of Paul and Alice Blagg, both of whom preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kellie Stinchcomb, and her husband, Jim. His legacy is carried forward by his grandchildren: Darin Stinchcomb, who shares his life with his spouse Kendra, along with their children Satie, Syrus, and Cynthia; and Darla Stichcomb. Floyd’s extended family includes the children of his late partner, Wanda Blagg, who passed in 2025 after fifteen years together. Wanda’s children—Sue Fortenberry and her spouse Blake, Diane Johnson and her spouse Mark, and Phillip Cagle and his partner Diana Ward—remember Floyd fondly. Their children, encompassing a wide constellation of nieces and nephews, include Ethan Fortenberry and spouse Sarah, Bain Fortenberry and spouse Kirsten, Aubrey Fortenberry and spouse Kristy, Tiffany Simpson and spouse John, Chris Johnson, Jennifer Garrison and spouse Josh, Tommy Cagle and spouse Tracei, as well as fifteen great-grandchildren who carry forward Floyd’s name and spirit.
Floyd’s life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, and the joy found in the simple pleasures of life. His presence enriched the lives of many, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on June 22, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, located at 705 N Locust St, Denton, Texas. The funeral service will follow from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
