Obituary

On August 12, 2011, Florence Wagner McClain died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. She was 73. An amateur archaeologist and published author, Florence had traveled the United States and was especially fond of horse-back riding and camping in New Mexico. She was the daughter of Rolfe Wagner and Larry Jim Wagner of Aztec, NM and the sister of Rolfe Herbert Wagner of Aztec, NM. Florence was predeceased by her parents, her brother, and her husband and the love of her life, Terry McClain, and a number of adoring cats. She leaves behind two loving daughters, Prof. T. Davina McClain of Natchitoches, LA. and Gloria Ramaley of Fort Mill, S.C.; her son-in-law, Ken Ramaley of Fort Mill, SC.; three grandchildren, Hunter McClain, Malcolm McClain, and Charlotte Ramaley also of Fort Mill, SC.; a sister-in-law, Glenda Wagner and a niece, Erica Wagner of Austin, TX.; and a nephew, Kurt Wagner of Wayne, NJ. A celebration in Florence's honor will be held at a later date. Gifts in her name may be made to the Denton SPCA or Best Friends.
