Obituary

Faye Yeatts Hughes, 89, of Denton, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Pilot Point Care Center.
Mrs. Hughes was born on April 17, 1928 in Sanger, TX to Charlie Lawson and Carnie Mae (Anthony) Yeatts. She was married to James P. McCormack on August 17, 1950 in Denton County; she later married Elbert L. Hughes on June 7, 1965 in Cooke County, he died on September 16, 1995. She was a Baptist and a Lifetime member of Ora E. Davis Rebekah Lodge #241 and was past Noble Grand in 1960; member of the American Legion Auxiliary and American Gold Star Mothers. She worked as a medical assistant for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Sallee and husband Edward of Valley View; son, Timothy P. McCormack and wife Wanda of Denton; brother, C L Yeatts of Denton; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Michael R. McCormack, James B. "Nip" McCormack; stepson, Richard R. Hughes; sisters, Marie Williams, Jo Gossett, Charlene Richards, Berta Farr and Joyce Lynch; grandson, Jeremy J. McCormack.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Thomas St., Denton. Rev. Brandon McCarroll will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
