Fay Alene Burnside, loving mother and grandmother, went home to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 2, at the age of 90.
She was born October 11, 1929, to Oral and Nola Calvin of Malden, Missouri.
Fay married Arthur Burnside of Morgan Town, West Virginia, July 1, 1949.
She is the mother of Burnie R. Burnside of Denton, Texas, and Dan Burnside of Oklahoma City. She is the grandmother of Ben Burnside, Tiffany (Burnside) Sewell, Heidi (Burnside) Menard, and Nathan Burnside. She had 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, Fay was also preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Nola Calvin; and her siblings Mable Naomi Calvin; Ray Glen Calvin; Kenneth Calvin, Jamima Ruth Calvin; and Terry Lee Calvin.
Fay was a committed member of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene in Denton. She loved children and worked in children's ministries for over 35 years. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held for her on Friday, August 14 at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 3600 Kings Row, Denton 76208.
