Obituary

Faye Allene Atkins, 82, of Denton, Texas, died at her home on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014.
She was born on March 17, 1932, in Pineville, LA. to Sim B. and Winona Whatley. On June 23, 1951, she married Thomas H. Atkins, Jr. in Alexandria, LA. Mrs. Atkins attended Texas State College for Women, now known as T.W.U. Faye was a homemaker, mother, real estate broker, travel agent, master gardener and flower show judge. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Alexandria, LA., Denton Garden Club, and Aerial Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Atkins, Jr. and her son, T.H. (Trey) Atkins, III. She is survived by daughters, Christine Jones and Anne Jackson, both of College Station, TX., Tracy Atkins of Denton, TX. and her grandchildren; Wesley Miller, Meredith Miller, Tommy Atkins, Ritchie Biggs, Tracy Biggs, Gregory Jackson, and Christie Jackson and great-grandson, Wallace Wong.

A service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 31, 2014 in the Denton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pilot Point Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. The Rev. Jon Kenzie will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Denton Funeral Home.
