Evelyn J. Rodgers went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Denton.
Funeral: Services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, TX. Interment will be afterward at the Green Valley cemetery.
A visitation will take place on Friday evening from 6-8 pm. At the funeral home.
Evelyn was born on June 24, 1937 in Denton County to the late Everett and Willie Mae Lynch. She grew up in the Green Valley community and attended school in Denton. Evelyn graduated from Denton High School in 1955. Evelyn later worked for the Denton State School, where she retired as a Manager of Food Services. She was currently a beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Evelyn always enjoyed the outdoors, and in earlier years loved to camp and boat at Lake Texoma. She always had a beautiful yard, with pretty flowers, rosebushes and lots of hummingbirds at her many feeders.
Family was very important to Evelyn and she always cherished time spent with her sons and their families, her siblings and her large extended family. She loved all holidays and always decorated her home and yard.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Fred Lynch, Duane Lynch, Billy Lynch and Ray Lynch; her sisters Ida Mae Wallace and Doris Ann Wallace.
Evelyn is survived by her son Bret Rodgers and daughter-in-law Virginia of Whitesboro; her son Randal Rodgers and daughter-in-law Denise of Grapevine; her grandsons William Rodgers and wife Rebecca of Huntsville, AL and Zachary Rodgers of Keller. She is also survived by her great grand-daughter Aubrey, very special niece Tonia Akins, as well as many other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
