Evelyn Ruth Battle-Simmons, 70, of Denton, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home in Denton.

Mrs. Battle-Simmons was born on February 5, 1948 in Commerce, TX to Ross and Ruth V. (Tyler) Battle. She married Donnie Simmons in Denton. She was retired from FEMA.

Evelyn is survived by daughters, Arleine Battle-Thomas of Justin, Darlene Jackson of Justin; sons, Lawrence Battle of Newark, TX, James Battle of Newark, TX; sister, Marilyn Kendrick of Bakersfield, CA; brother, Edward Hendserson of Bakersfield, CA; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2018 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton.
