Eugenia C. Ponce passed away June 22, 2011 in the place where she most wanted to be, her home. Eugenia was born March 20, 1918 inAldama, Tamaluipas, Mexico She was 93. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruno Ponce Diaz. She leaves behind three sons, Gilbert and wife Beryle of Atlanta, GA Santiago (Sandy) and wife Dolly of Carrollton, Abelardo (Lalo) and wife Linda of St. Charles, IL She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Kristina, David and John of Atlanta, GA Cynthia and Sonia of Carrollton, and Logan of St. Charles, IL
Eugenia was a Homemaker to her husband and three sons. She cooked, washed clothes, and on occasion dished out punishment. But she will always be remembered for the love and affection she showered on those around her. Eugenia was a Naturalized Citizen . She took the Oath of citizenship on July 4, 1996 at Texas Statium. Up until her last few years of her life, she took great pleasure in voting and reminded her kids to do the same.
Gone is the matriarch of the Bruno Ponce family. Not only will she be missed but also her love, Generosity and compassion. She will always be in the hearts of those she loved and will continue to inspire us to achieve our dreams.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mson, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Deacon Emillo "Popo" Gonzalez and a Mass of the Christina Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 N Bonnie Brae, Denton, with Rev. Tim Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
