Ethel O. Dietrich, age 93, of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006, in Plano.

She was born November 12, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois to William O. and Elfrieda Hudella Olsen. Ethel married Wilfrid E. Dietrich on August 17, 1932 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1984.

Ethel was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville and was the poet laureate of the St. Philip parish. She was well noted as a local poet and was named Lewisville Citizen of the Year in 1992.

Ethel is survived by daughters, Beth Conant of Bloomington, Minnesota; Loralee Van Fossen and husband, Dennis of Dallas and Phyllis Tallett and husband, Hilyard of Duncanville; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey Dietrich in 1985.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Rosary will be recited at 7:30p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas. The Reverend John Stasiowski will officiate the service assisted by Deacon Bart Sapino.
