Essie Mae Rawls, 87 of Denton, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Denton Regional Medical Center, with her family at her side. She was born May 22, 1918 in Mobile, Texas to John Ben and Alice (Richardson) Passmore. She was married to Herman Rawls in Clovis, New Mexico in 1937, he died December 5, 1992. She was a member of the Cooper Creek Baptist Church, and was a Nurse and a Homemaker. A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, November 18, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Creek Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 7 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2005. Memorials may be made in memory of Essie and Herman to the Christmas Tree for Ann's Haven Hospice, 216 W. Mulberry, Denton, TX 76201, which was very special to her and that she had donated to for several years. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Walter Collom, Dwayne Barton, Jeff Lumsden, Great Grandson, Justin Wallace, Nephew, Carroll Lilljedahl, and great Nephew, Brandon Robinson. Mrs. Rawls is survived by two daughters, Pat and husband W. A. Smith of Krum, and Diana Brown, of Peru, Kansas, a sister Myrtle Lou Lilljedahl, of Conroe, and grandchildren and spouses, Walter and Angie Collom, LaCynda and Dwayne Barton, Dona and Jeff Lumsden, Crystal and Richard Newby, Shannon and Allen Kisgen, and Seventeen Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, J. B. Passmore, sisters, Thelma Sullivan, and Agnes Shakespear, Son in law, John Brown, and Granddaughter, Kimberley Lloyd. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
