Obituary

Ernest Gayle West, 86 of Denton, passed away on November 16, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital.  He was born January 24, 1930 in Memphis, Hall County, Texas to Ernest Lamar and Thelma Ben (Stewart) West.  He was married to Mina Young Baskin on July 3, 1981 in Denton.  He was banker, rancher, farmer, and retiree from Paccar Corp.  He is a member of the Methodist Church.  In addition to being remembered for his positive disposition and playful sense of humor, he was an avid athlete, coach, and golfer.

Mr. West was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather of 13, and great grandfather of 10.  Gayle is survived by his wife Mina S. West of Denton, sons Larry West and wife Karen of The Trophy Club, TX Mike West and wife Diane of Chandler, AZ  Mike Baskin and wife Ann and Marc Baskin and wife Lisa both of Oklahoma City, OK, daughters Carlene Latham and husband Terry  of Plano, TX  Marcia Elston and husband David of Flower Mound, TX   brothers Lloyd West of Dundas, MN and Coy West of Dallas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Katherine Robinson and brother Bennie West.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Denton, followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Bach officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sean Rainer, Michael West, Jeremy Mayhew, Bryan West, Brad Schornick,  Aaron Ketter,  Ryan Baskin, and Carson West. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any Parkinson's research foundation.
