Ernest Joseph Romero, 75, of Denton, died Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Medical City in Denton.

Mr. Romero was born on May 7, 1946 in Raton, NM to Mike and Confie (Fresquez) Romero. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was married to Elvia San Miguel on July 24, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Elvia Romero of Denton; daughters, Leanne Rodriguez (Johnnie) of Northglenn, CO, Jenifer Padron (Gerald) of Brighton, CO, Celia De La Pena (Aaron) of Denton, Cynthia Randall (David) of Denton, Adriana Robinson (Corey) of League City; sons, Paul Romero of Northglenn, CO, John Romero (Sarah) of Brighton, CO; sister, Rosella Chavez of Thornton, CO; brothers, Edward Romero of Denver, CO, Mike Romero of Northglenn, CO, Richard Romero of Brighton, CO; grandchildren, Valerie, Victoria, Johnnie, Kenneth, Nicole, Rocco, Jacob, Paul, Sienna, Roman, Enzo, Gavin, Dylan, Landon, Mathias, Samual, Carlos, Alizé, Sky, Maren, Rex, Laynie, Annalynn; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Mia, Dominic, Anayah. He was preceded in death by sons, Ernest Romero, Jr., Paul Patrick Romero; sister, Tessie Romero; brothers, Patrick Romero, Paul Romero, Richard Romero; grandson, Angelo; great-granddaughter, Quinn.

A visitation was held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday October 1, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 2631 E 78th Ave, Denver, CO 80229.

Following the mass, there will be a procession to Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236.

A reception will follow at the VFW located at 2680 W. Hampden Ave. Englewood, CO 80110.
