Erica Nicole (Olson) Step passed away February 12, 2019, at the age of 44 at her home in Krum, TX.

Erica was born May 7, 1974, in Arlington, TX, to Lesley H. Olson, Jr. and Janice E. (McCaslin) Millican.  Erica is survived in death by her husband James (Jim) M. Step, son Levi J. Step (12) and daughter Tatum N. Step (9) of Krum, TX; her father, Les Olson and wife Kathy Olson of Krugerville, TX; her mother Janice Millican and husband Roy Millican of Decatur, TX; her brother Jason Olson, wife Sirena Olson, niece Faren Manuel and nephew Gavin of Little Elm, TX; and an extended family including step-brothers, step-sisters, uncles, aunts & cousins.

Erica received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX.  She was a teacher in Denton ISD at Ginnings Elementary for 2 ½ years and previously in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD at Cannon Elementary for 19 years.  She spent all day, every day, including time off, teaching ALL of her children how to be special, just like Levi and Tatum.  She showed them the way to an exceptional life and she does it at each child's individual speed.  This was her passion and, like her own, these children were her everything.  She didn't let cancer take away her warmth, her humor, or her faith, and she will be missed so much by so many.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 15 at the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery funeral home at 705 N Locust St, Denton. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16 at the Trinity United Methodist church 633 N. Hobson Ln, Denton.
