On Tuesday, December 22 ^nd , we lost our son who was also a dad, a husband, brother, nephew, cousin, and a friend. For 40 years he was the best in each of those categories. The complete package: charm, personality, looks, unparalleled athletic ability, but above all, true compassion for friends and family.

Before Eric was overcome by his sickness, he brought joy and loyalty to all of us. If one needed a shoulder to cry on, a bear hug, a strong arm, or a teammate, Eric was our man.

On behalf of the Carey family, we thank all of the underpaid coaches who helped mold him into the warrior that he was, and those friends who always stood by him. He loved you all.

Rest in Peace, "Our Beautiful Son." Eric is survived by his parents Llynal & Claudette Carey, sons Cal & Cooper Carey, brother Steve Carey (Stephanie), sister Julie Carey Thomas (Michael), nephews Colton, Rylan, Joey, Maxwell, and Jackson.
