Obituary

Elsie "Gan" Cole, 87, of Denton, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2008, with her loving family at her side. She was born August 22, 1921 in Throckmorton, Texas to John Benton and Clara Mae (Ingram) Nichols. She was married to Hoyt Martin Cole on August 11, 1938, he died on July 21, 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a homemaker.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, with Rev. Cliff Feeler officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. for visitation. Memorials may be made to Ann's Haven Hospice, VNA, 501 S. Carroll Blvd. Suite 201, Denton, TX 76201. Special thanks to her caregivers, Connie, Terri, and Brandy and the hospice staff.

Mrs. Cole is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Dale Irwin, Teresa and Larry Richter, both of Denton, and Lou and Bruce Deelaney of Murphy, TX; six grandchildren, Scott Richter and wife, Pam, Barry Irwin and wife, Roxanne, Kim Richter Gekiere and husband, Larry, Jr., Craig Irwin and wife, Marla, Jennifer Deelaney Barrett and husband, Nathan, Jason Deelaney and wife, Jackie; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, Donna Lane and Darlene Harrison, both of California; nephew, John Fires of Roanoke, TX.
