Elmo Smith, 85, of Justin, formerly of Argyle, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Long Meadow Care Center in Justin. He was born June 23, 1920 in Stoney, to Oscar Lee and Mary Katherine (McClary) Smith. He was married Muriel Marie Jennings on August 3, 1940 in Argyle, and she died March 17, 1990, then he married Edrena Faught Jennings in Fort Worth on December 7, 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Argyle, He was a retired owner and operator of Smith Garage in Argyle.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, February 20, 2006 at Prairie Mound Cemetery, with Rev. Jonathan Baker, officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Mound Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Sunday, February 19, 2006. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Edrena Smith, daughter, Wilda 'Tootsie' Hensley, of Montague, and sons, Ronnie Smith, of Justin, and Doyle Smith, of Keller, step sons, Paul Jennings of Grapevine, and Phillip Jennings of Halton City. Two sisters, Thelma A. Willingham, of Denton, and Mildred Wilmoth, of Fort Worth, and a brother Herman Lee Smith, of Missouri. Seven Grandchildren, Six Step Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren and eight Step Great Grandchildren.
