Elmer Curtis Jackson of Denton passed away September 29, 2007 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 17, 1920 in Slidell, Texas, the oldest son of the late David Paul and Mae Ethel (Greene) Jackson brother of David Paul, Jr. Donald Jerry, Dioneta and Gary Lynn. He retired from his job as an electronics technician after more that 20 years of service at Texas Instruments. Previously he was employed at General Dynamics, Convair and General Electric. As a member of the U. S. Air Force he attained the rank of Tech. Sergeant and received a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Christine Ellis became his wife on September 18, 1948 in Gainesville, and she preceded him in death in 1994 after 46 years of marriage.
Mr. Jackson is survived by two daughters Teresa Paulette Kincade of Bonham, and Amanda Kathleen Knoles, of Long Beach, CA He is also survived by son-in-law Lynn Kincade and one grandson, Dustin Kincade, both of Bonham. One brother, Billy Wayne Jackson, of Krum, Texas. His special friends included Boots Blagg, of Denton and Members of the McKinney Street Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the McKinney Street Baptist Church, with Chad Shira, officiating. With burial at Jackson Cemetery in Krum. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton from 7:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 for visitation. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the McKinney Street Baptist Church, 3000 East McKinney St. Denton, TX 76201
