Obituary

Ellen L. Garrison

Ellen Garrison went to be with her Lord on August 17, 2023.  She was born in October 1940 to Jim and Agnes Stevenson. She grew up in the mountains near Naches, WA with her sister, Sylvia, and her brother, Ed.

She is survived by her brother, her children, grandchildren, and her husband, G. Frank Garrison, who was the absolute love of her life.  They met on a blind date set up by a friend and were married for over 60 years.  After the birth of their son Garry, they moved from Washington state back to Frank's stomping grounds of Ketchikan, Alaska.  There they had many adventures in the wilds of Alaska as well as a daughter named Ginger.  Ellen has four grandchildren, Aaron, Audrey, Isaac and Amber.  They were her focus in her later years and her greatest joy.

In Alaska, Ellen raised her children and, when they were young, she taught ballet for the youngest dancers at Ketchikan Theatre Ballet.  She then worked as a legal secretary for the City of Ketchikan.  After retirement she and Frank moved to Texas to be near her daughter and (for Ellen) to enjoy the heat.  She loved gardening, crocheting, horseback riding, reading, dancing (ballet and ballroom), and her Bible.

Bible study was an important part of her life both as a leader and a participant.  While in Texas she graduated from the Bible Training Center for Leaders at Denton Bible Church.  Ellen's favorite scripture was Romans chapter 8.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39

She will be greatly missed!
