Obituary

Eleanor Seth, 78, of Comanche, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008. Eleanor was born May 15, 1929 to Horace and Faye Harper. She is survived by two sons, John A. Seth of Comanche, Texas and James R. Seth of Bay Town, Texas; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Eleanor Seth was a housewife, mother, secretary and musician. She graduated summa cum laude in Music from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Her love of music influenced her life and those she would meet. She was an accomplished pianist and led church and community choirs in Borger, TX; Hickory Hills, IL; and Comanche, TX. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Comanche. Her second love was gardening, inspired by her father Dr. H.J. Harper, a professor at OSU. Dr. Harper traveled world wide teaching organic methods of farming in many places, including Turkey and India. Eleanor shared his knowledge with friends and family members. Many varieties of roses and iris can be enjoyed in Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois and Ohio because of her efforts. Mrs. Seth encouraged many with her passion for music and gardening, positively influencing her family for generations. She will be greatly missed by those she loved. Memorials may be made to the Music Ministry of Comanche FUMC, the Building Fund of Blanket Methodist Church, Blanket, TX or the American Lung Association.
