Eleanor Page Bucy
Eleanor Page Bucy, 71, passed away Sunday May 22, 2011 at her home in Little Elm after a long battle with serious health problems. She was born in Paw Paw, West Virginia on June 2, 1939 to Riley and Francis Riffey. She moved with her mother and sister to Michigan and then to Arizona because of asthma problems. She completed high school in Tucson, Arizona.
She met and married her husband of nearly 40 years, John Thomas Bucy, in Tucson and they have been residents in the Dallas area since 1979 and have resided in Little Elm since 2007.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a son. She is survived by two daughters: Kelli Lynn Bucy Brown (Joseph), Judith Ann Bucy Carroll (Jamie); four sons: Michael Dwayne Bucy, Michael Francis Bucy, Geoffrey Thomas Bucy and Timothy Scott Kenton. Surviving also are five grandchildren: Corey Bucy, Oakley Wilson, Austin Brown, Mychael Elizabeth Bucy and Carter, and her sister, Ruby Jean Bird (Richard) of Portage, Michigan.
A Memorial Service will be 10:30 am, Friday May 27, 2011 at Water's Edge Lutheran Church, 5475 Coit Road, Frisco, TX where she has been a member for many years. Eleanor requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to the Nelson Children's Center, 460 I-35N, Denton TX 76207, an organization that was always in her heart.
Although suffering with Alzheimer's, asthma and diabetes, she continued to assist with the preparation of children's church materials at Water's Edge. A loving mother, grandmother and wife, she was always ready to help others. She found beauty in everything she viewed and each day everything she saw no matter how often she had seen it was new to her. She had a deep love of animals, especially her pug and two rescued house cats. She maintained her backyard as a haven for birds and spent hours observing them.
