Eldridge Dean Newland, 80, of Denton, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005; he was born February 26, 1925 in Sanger, Texas to Willibee Everette and Elsie Lou (George) Newland. He attended Public Schools and was retired from Victor Equipment Company as a Machinist. He attended the Baptist Church. He was married to Audrey Burris in 1943, she died on Jan. 29, 1994, then he married Aileen Virgin on December 16, 1994 in Denton.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2005 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe George, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Creek Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2005 for visitation. Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Mr. Newland is survived by his wife, Aileen Newland, of Denton, daughter, Cheryl Dean Newland, of Denton, step daughter, Eva Jo-ellen Virgin, of Denton, and a step son Ben J. Virgin, of Sanger, a sister Vonnie Lou Hunter, of Denton, and brothers W. H. Newland, of Lewisville, Ray Newland, Joe Newland, and Lafayette Newland, all of Denton, and four Grandchildren.
