Elaine Meyers Reed, 91, of Denton, died Thursday July 31, 2008 at Denton Good Samaritan Village.

Mrs. Reed was born on October 7, 1916 in Peacock, TX to Charles Walter and Buena Vista (Underwood) Meyers. She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Technical College, where she met Glenn. She married Andrew Glenn Reed on December 12, 1935 in Lubbock. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 1972 as the secretary to the Postmaster at the San Francisco International Airport. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Denton.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday August 2, 2008 in the Cindy Nichols Chapel of the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St, Denton. Rev. Cliff Feeler will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church on Saturday.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill George of Denton; sister, Dorothy Hobgood of Lubbock, TX; brother, C.W. Meyers of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren, Tag George of Denton, Kelly Griffeth of Lantana; great grandchildren, Zackery George, Nolan Griffeth, Collin Griffeth.
