Edward Eugene Gardner, age 89, of Krum, TX, passed away on October 29, 2025.

Born on November 1,1935 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Edward was the beloved son of Archie and Francis Gardner. He grew up in Cartwright, Oklahoma and at the age of 20, enlisted in the US Air Force. He travelled all around the world and in the process found his bride Elisabeth in Oxford, England. They lived in many places including England, Japan, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Virginia Beach, Fort Walton Beach and Myrtle Beach and settled in Denton, Texas.

After retirement from the Air Force in 1979, Edward became a carpenter, framing houses in the DFW area. His biggest joy though was being with family, his kids and many grandkids. Dad (Papa) was known for his sweet and shy personality and his cheeky sense of humor. He was a man of few words, but he loved to smile and laugh with his precious family.

Edward is survived by his sisters Iva, Florence and Mavis, his daughter Vickie Seward (Rudy), his son Andrew Gardner (Inez), and his son-in-law Steve Leverton, his granddaughters Nikki Leverton (Patrick), Jaimie Leverton (Tony), Trinity Cobb (Malachi), Brooklyn Gardner, Madi, and Savana, his grandsons Colin Seward, Landon Gardner, Flynn Seward, and Justin, and his great-grandchildren Alex, Sophia, Gwen, Lincoln, and Ozzy. He almost met his soon-to-be great-grandson, Monte! He would have said on his 90th birthday, "I'm 90 and 9 months!", so according to him, they already met, bless him!

Edward was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Harold, Maynard, and Jimmy, his wife Elisabeth, son Philip and daughter Karen.

A funeral service will be held on November 4 at 2:00 pm at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, TX.

Edward was our precious Hero, our Daddy and Papa who brightened all our lives. Bless him and may God keep him!
